About this piece
Dashavatara means the ten avatars of Vishnu. This set has ten separate brass figures, each standing on its own small square base. The photos show a tortoise-bodied figure, a figure with a fish tail and a figure holding an umbrella, among others.
The seller lists each figure at 12.5 cm (5 inch) tall, and the full set weighs 2.43 kg. The small size suits an altar shelf or a display cabinet.
How it is used
Some homes keep the ten avatars together on a shelf, in the order of the traditional list, and many display them at festivals or in a prayer room. The small size also suits a cabinet or a desk.
