About this piece
Dhanvantari is the physician of the gods and the deity of Ayurveda in Hindu tradition, shown as a form of Vishnu. This brass statue shows him standing on a round lotus base with four arms and a crown, in a polished gold finish.
It is 43 cm (17 inch) tall, 18 cm wide and weighs 6.44 kg, so it is a large, solid piece. It suits a shrine, a clinic or a home with a firm shelf.
How it is used
Dhanvantari is honoured by many Ayurveda practitioners and families, and his festival, Dhanvantari Jayanti, falls on Dhanteras before Diwali. The statue is kept on a shrine shelf or in a practice room.
