About this piece
A handmade brass statue of a Jain Tirthankara seated in the meditation posture, with hands resting in the lap and a calm face. The photos show a smooth, polished gold finish and a plain, solid back. It sits on a hexagonal base.
It is 28 cm (11 inch) tall, 21.5 cm wide and weighs 5.3 kg. That is a good size for a home shrine shelf or a temple room.
How it is used
Many Jain homes keep a Tirthankara image in a small, clean shrine, and begin the day there with a short prayer or a few minutes of samayik. The image is usually set at a height where it can be seen easily.
