About this piece
Mahavira is the 24th and last Tirthankara of Jainism. This handmade brass sculpture shows a small figure in front of a carved back panel, set on a round base, in a gold brass finish.
It is 7.5 cm (3 inch) tall, 5 cm wide and weighs 252 g. It is small enough for a travel shrine, a desk or a corner of a prayer room. The photos show a plain, flat back panel.
How it is used
Many Jain homes keep a Tirthankara image in a small, clean shrine. A very small figure like this is often chosen for a travel shrine, a desk or a corner of a prayer room.
