About this piece
A seated Mahavira in brass, the twenty-fourth Tirthankara, shown in meditation on a low rectangular base. The photos show a very bright, mirror-like finish with fine carving on the jewellery-like bands of the arms and chest.
It stands 12 cm tall and weighs 310 g, which makes it light for a brass piece. It suits a small shrine or a shelf.
How it is used
Many Jain homes keep a Tirthankara image in a small, clean shrine and begin the day with a lamp and a short prayer or a few minutes of samayik. This size fits a shelf or small altar.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners that dull a polished finish.
