About this piece
A seated Tirthankara in brass with a many-hooded serpent canopy behind the head, on a stepped base. The seller lists it as Adinatha, also called Rishabha Deva, the first Tirthankara. A serpent hood canopy is more often seen on images of Parshvanatha, so if the identity matters to you, confirm it with the seller before buying.
It measures about 11 x 7 x 3 cm and weighs 640 g, so it suits a small shrine or shelf. There is only one photo, so look at it closely.
How it is used
Many Jain homes keep a Tirthankara image in a small, clean shrine and begin the day there with a lamp or a short prayer. A figure this size sits easily on a shelf or a compact altar.
