About this piece
A seated Tirthankara in brass, made by hand in India, in meditation on a stepped base with a fan of serpent hoods behind the head. The seller lists it as Rishabha Deva, the first Tirthankara, though serpent hoods are more often seen on images of Parshvanatha.
It is about 12 cm tall and 700 g. The seller offers three colours, Alluring Silver, Antique and Natural Brass, and the photos show all three. Choose the colour on the seller's page.
How it is used
Many Jain homes keep a Tirthankara image in a small, clean shrine, with a lamp and a few minutes of quiet prayer each morning. A piece this size fits a shelf or a small altar.
Looking after it
