About this piece
Hawan samagri is the dry mixture offered into the fire in a hawan or yagya. This is Camveda's 1 kg pouch in orange packing with Devanagari lettering. The seller says it is a mix of dried herbal roots and leaves, and lists key ingredients as loban, deodar, barley and black sesame.
The seller says there are over 30 ingredients and the form is granules. The first photo shows the pouch beside a bowl of the dark, coarse mix. The maker is United Multichem LLP of Delhi.
How it is used
Samagri is offered a little at a time into the fire of a hawan, often with ghee, while mantras are chanted. Many homes use a small copper or brass hawan kund for this.
