About this piece
A pooja set that gathers the usual items of a daily puja on one plate. It has a 26 cm brass thaali with a fine-hammered border and an engraved centre, a diya, two small bowls for kumkum and haldi, a lota for water, a curved prasad tray and a kansa bell with a wooden handle.
The brass is polished. The photos show the pieces laid out on the thaali with marigold petals. It suits someone setting up a home altar who wants matching pieces in one box rather than buying each separately.
How it is used
The seller describes the thaali as the base that carries the rest. The diya holds the flame, the two bowls hold kumkum and haldi, the lota holds water, the tray holds prasad, and the bell is rung to mark the start of prayer. Flowers and rice can go on the open space of the thaali.
