About this piece

Camphor (kapoor) is lit at the end of aarti in most Hindu homes. This is Shubhkart's Surabhi camphor, in a 50 g round clear jar with a pink lid, filled with white tablets.

The seller says the tablets burn instantly and leave no ash or residue. The photos show the jar on its own and on a wooden table with flowers. The maker is Shubhkart India Pvt Ltd of Mumbai.

How it is used

A tablet or two is placed in a small camphor holder or on the aarti plate and lit during aarti. Camphor is also lit at the end of puja in many homes.

Looking after it
