About this piece
A mala made of natural 6 mukhi rudraksha beads from Nepal, strung head to tail with polished wooden discs between them in alternating light and dark tones. The seller's page calls it a Kantha Mala, while the listing title calls it a mala, so it is worn as a string of beads at the neck.
The seller lists Om Hreem Hoom Namah as the beej mantra. The photos show the mala looped, stretched out and laid in folds.
How it is used
A rudraksha mala is traditionally worn or used for japa, repeating a mantra on the beads. The seller suggests it for daily wear and for practice. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 71) names Kartikeya for the six-faced bead. Astrologers today pair this bead with Venus (Shukra); the pairing is a later convention, not a statement of the Purana, and it is the one this site uses in its rudraksha guide and free kundali.
Looking after it
