About this piece
A loose 13 mukhi rudraksha bead of the small grade, from Java in Indonesia. The photos show a single oval bead in light tan with fine ridges and a few pale threads on the surface, seen from the face, the side and along its hole, in front of a teal cloth.
It can be strung on a cord or kept in a puja space.
How it is used
A loose bead is usually threaded on a cord for the neck or wrist, or kept on an altar. The seller gives a short bija mantra on its page. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 79) names the Vishvedevas for the thirteen-faced bead; the Devi Bhagavata names Kamadeva. Our rudraksha guide pairs this bead with no planet.
