About this piece
A 7 mukhi rudraksha has seven natural faces. This is a single bead from Nepal. The seller's size guide puts Nepal beads between 14 mm for small and 40 mm for collector grade, with an average of 20 mm.
The seller names Om Hoom Namah as the beej mantra. The photos show a ridged, rust brown bead on a pale ground from the top, side and an angle.
How it is used
Rudraksha beads are traditionally worn or used for japa, repeating a mantra. This is a loose bead, so it is for stringing or keeping as you choose. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 72) names Ananga, that is Kama, for the seven-faced bead. Astrologers today pair this bead with Saturn (Shani); the pairing is a later convention, not a statement of the Purana, and it is the one this site uses in its rudraksha guide and free kundali.
