About this piece
A copper yantra plate as the Shri Dhanvantari Upasana Yantra. Dhanvantari is the physician of the gods in Hindu tradition and is honoured in Ayurveda. The photo shows a gold coloured plate with Devanagari text along the top, a standing figure with several arms at the left and a grid of small squares at the right.
It measures 15 cm (6 in) square. The seller page does not list a weight.
How it is used
Dhanvantari is worshipped on Dhanteras and by many Ayurveda practitioners. A plate like this is usually kept on the altar or in the puja room, near an image of him. Practices differ by family and lineage.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Copper darkens with time; this is normal.
