Enter a date of birth above to find the moolank and bhagyank in the Vedic scheme. The calculator shows every step of the addition, the compound number, the ruling planet and a link to the page for each number.
How the two numbers are found
The moolank is the day of the month, added down to one digit. The bhagyank is every digit of the day, month and year added together, then added down to one digit. For 15 August 1947 the moolank is 1 plus 5, which is 6, and the digits of the whole date add to 35, then 3 plus 5, which is 8. The moolank and bhagyank page explains the method in full, and each number has a page, listed on the numerology hub.
Where this calculator stops
It does not keep the master numbers 11 and 22, because the Indian method reduces every total to 1 to 9. It uses the date you type and nothing else, so no time or place of birth is needed. Numerology is a traditional practice for reflection and not a science, and the results make no prediction about luck, money, health or marriage. The Lo Shu grid calculator and the name number calculator use the same approach for the grid and for a name.
Frequently asked questions
↳ Is my date of birth sent to a server?
No. The sum is worked out in your browser. Only the first-time email check, which sends you a 6-digit code, uses our server.
↳ Why does my moolank differ from another website?
Some sites keep 11 and 22 as master numbers or use a different rule. This calculator follows the Indian method and reduces every total to a single digit.
↳ What is the compound number?
It is the total before the last reduction, such as 29 before it becomes 2. Some teachers read it as a footnote to the single digit.
