About this piece
A table-top brass idol of Lord Shiva from the Brass Allure collection. In the photos he sits cross-legged in meditation with a trident beside him, in warm gold-toned brass with a plain, clean finish. The seller says it is handcrafted by Indian artisans in solid brass and checked piece by piece before dispatch.
The seller's size graphic shows about 13 cm in height and 8 cm in width.
How it is used
Many homes keep a Shiva image on the puja shelf, and Mondays and Mahashivratri are popular times for worship. The seller suggests a small square of cloth or a wooden chowki under it, which lifts the brass clear of the surface and stops it marking polished wood.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Wrap in soft cotton rather than newspaper when gifting, since printing ink can transfer onto warm brass.
