About this piece
A japa mala of natural clear quartz beads, also called sphatik, finished with a silver-coloured cap and a red tassel. The photos show transparent, slightly frosted round beads on a loop with the tassel hanging at the front.
It is 13.5 inches (34 cm) long and 45 g. The seller says it is genuine and certified, and does not state the number of beads.
How it is used
Sphatik malas are traditionally linked with Shukra (Venus) and with worship of Lakshmi and Durga. A mala is held and counted bead by bead while a mantra is repeated.
Looking after it
- Keep dry and wipe with a soft cloth.
- Store away from hard objects, as quartz beads can chip.
