About this piece
A copper yantra plate as the Shri Durga Bisa Yantra. The photos show a soft copper surface engraved with a triangle inside a ring of lotus petals, a square border with gates around it, and lines of Devanagari text above and below.
It measures 15 cm (6 in) square and weighs 80 g, so it is thin and light. The close-ups show the engraving is shallow and fine.
How it is used
A yantra for Durga is traditionally kept on the puja altar, near an image of the goddess, or on a clean wall. Many families use it in Navaratri worship. Practices differ by family and lineage.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Copper darkens with time; this is normal.
