The Mars-Sun antardasha is the eighth sub-period of the Mars Mahadasha, and among the shortest at about 4 months and 6 days. It follows the long Mars-Venus interval and brings in the Sun, the planet of the self, authority, vitality and the father. It is followed by the last sub-period, Mars-Moon.

People look it up because the Sun and Mars are close allies, both hot and assertive, and the pairing is often described as confident. It is short, so it tends to be intense and memorable: a brief time in which will, leadership and recognition are all in view.
