Enter a registration number above, such as GJ 13 AB 1234, to see its total in the Vedic numerology scheme. The tool adds the digits for the main total, adds the letters separately using the Chaldean table, names the planet that owns each total, and shows every step. If you add the owner’s date of birth, it also compares the total with the owner’s moolank and bhagyank.
How the total is worked out
Take the digits of the registration and add them. If the sum has two digits, add those until one remains. For GJ 13 AB 1234 the digits are 1, 3, 1, 2, 3 and 4, which add up to 14, and 1 plus 4 is 5. The vehicle number total is 5, which belongs to Mercury.
The letters come from the Chaldean table: A, I, J, Q and Y are 1, B, K and R are 2, C, G, L and S are 3, D, M and T are 4, E, H, N and X are 5, U, V and W are 6, O and Z are 7, and F and P are 8. In the example G is 3, J is 1, A is 1 and B is 2, which makes 7. Adding that to the digit total of 14 gives 21, and 2 plus 1 is 3, so the digits and letters together give 3, which belongs to Jupiter.
The two figures often differ. This tool leads with the digits and shows the letters as a second layer, because the digits are the part that is unique to your vehicle within a series. Teachers differ on how much the letters should count, so we show both and let you decide how much weight to give each.
What the tradition says
Each total belongs to a graha, and the tradition describes that graha’s themes: 1 the Sun, 2 the Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn and 9 Mars. The number pages describe each in full. For a vehicle, teachers read the total as a comment on the character of the owner’s journeys and relationship with the vehicle. These are themes for reflection and not facts about any vehicle.
When you give a date of birth, the tool lists how the total sits beside the owner’s moolank and bhagyank using the friendly, neutral and less comfortable lists from the number pages. The lists are the traditional way of describing which numbers sit easily together.
What it cannot tell you
No registration number makes a vehicle safer, more reliable or more likely to hold its value. No total, including 4 or 8, says anything about accidents or faults, and the tool will not suggest otherwise. Safe driving, regular servicing, insurance and following the law are what matter. If you are choosing a fancy number, the cost and your own liking for it are better guides than any total.

Frequently asked questions
↳ How do I find the numerology number of my vehicle?
Add all the digits of the registration number and reduce the sum to a single digit from 1 to 9. In GJ 13 AB 1234 the digits add to 14, then 5. The tool also shows the total with the letters included.
↳ Do the letters of the plate count?
Teachers differ. The digits lead in this tool and the letters, valued with the Chaldean table, are shown as a second figure and as a combined total, so you can see all three.
↳ Is there a lucky vehicle number?
The tradition lists friendly and less comfortable pairings between numbers, but it does not make any total lucky or unlucky in itself. Numerology is a reflective practice and does not promise safety, luck or money.
↳ Which date of birth should I use?
Use the date of birth of the person who will mostly drive or who is the registered owner. If several people use the vehicle, you can try each date and compare.
↳ Is my registration number stored?
No. The registration number is read inside your browser and is not sent to us. Our server is used only for the one-time email check, which sends you a 6-digit code.
