Type a house or flat number above, such as 204 or 12B, to see its total in the Vedic numerology scheme. The tool adds the digits, shows any letter separately, names the planet that owns the total and shows every step. If your address has a building or plot number as well, add it and the tool compares the two, and if you add a resident’s date of birth it compares the total with that person’s moolank and bhagyank.
How the total is worked out
Add the digits of the number and, if the sum has two digits, add those until one remains. For 204 the digits are 2, 0 and 4. They add up to 6, so the house number total is 6, which belongs to Venus. For 138 the digits add up to 12, and 1 plus 2 is 3, so the total is 3, which belongs to Jupiter, with a compound number of 12.
A letter in the number, as in 12B, is valued with the Chaldean table, in which A is 1 and B is 2, and the tool shows it as a second figure. For 12B the digits give 3 and the letter adds 2, so with the letter the figure is 5. Teachers differ on whether a flat letter should count. We lead with the digits and show the letter beside them so that you can see both.
Which planet each total belongs to
The Indian scheme gives 1 to the Sun, 2 to the Moon, 3 to Jupiter, 4 to Rahu, 5 to Mercury, 6 to Venus, 7 to Ketu, 8 to Saturn and 9 to Mars. The number pages describe the traditional themes of each. The moolank and bhagyank page shows how the same table is used for dates of birth.
How to read the result
Teachers who read house numbers treat the total as a comment on the general atmosphere of a home. A 6, for instance, is associated with comfort, hospitality and a pleasant setting, and a 7 with quiet and reflection. These are themes to think about and not statements about the people who live there. A home whose total sounds unlike its residents is entirely ordinary.
If you add the building number, the tool shows how the two totals sit together using the friendly, neutral and less comfortable lists from the number pages, read in both directions. If you add a resident’s date of birth, it does the same for that person’s moolank and bhagyank. A less comfortable pairing means only that the books suggest balance, and it is never a reason to move or to change an address.
What it cannot tell you
A number cannot make a home happier, healthier or more prosperous, and it cannot show whether a flat is a good purchase. Those depend on price, location, light, repair and the people in it. If you are looking at the layout, entrance and direction of a home, that is the subject of Vastu, which this calculator does not cover. For other number tools see the vehicle number calculator, the mobile number calculator, the name number calculator and the numerology hub.
Frequently asked questions
↳ How do I find the numerology number of my house?
Add the digits of the house or flat number and reduce the sum to a single digit from 1 to 9. For 204 the digits add to 6. The tool shows each step and names the ruling planet.
↳ Do I use the flat number or the building number?
Teachers differ, and the tool shows both if you enter both. It leads with the flat or house number, since that is the part that belongs to your own door.
↳ Is there a lucky house number?
No total is lucky or unlucky in itself. The tradition describes friendly and less comfortable pairings between numbers, and numerology does not promise happiness, health or money.
↳ Should I change my address because of the total?
No. A house number total is a reflective reading and not a reason to move or to change an address. Practical matters such as cost, safety and location matter far more.
↳ Is the address stored?
No. The address number stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Our server is used only for the one-time email check, where we send you a 6-digit code.
