About this piece
This idol shows Chandra, also called Soma, the Navagraha linked with the Moon. The seller describes a jewelled figure standing on a dais with the right hand in abhaya mudra, the left in varada mudra, lotuses in the upper hands and a crescent moon at the back of the head.
The photos show a small animal figure, his vahan, beside the base. The seller says South Indian artisans made it in bronze. It suits a home altar, a study desk or a shelf.
