About this piece
A 2 mukhi rudraksha has two natural faces. The seller lists it in two origins, Indian and Nepali, with the choice made before adding it to the cart.
The seller gives a listed size of about 16 to 17 mm and a height of about 24 mm. The photos show a single bead with the seller's graphics.
How it is used
Rudraksha is traditionally worn or kept as a focus for practice. The seller notes that in traditional practice it may be strung on red or white thread. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 66) calls the two-faced bead Isha, the lord of the devas; the Devi Bhagavata names Ardhanarishvara. Astrologers today pair this bead with the Moon (Chandra); the pairing is a later convention, not a statement of the Purana, and it is the one this site uses in its rudraksha guide and free kundali.
Looking after it
- Keep the bead away from soap and chlorinated water.
- If strung on thread, do not knot it tightly against metal.
