About this piece
A loose 2 mukhi rudraksha bead from Java in Indonesia. The photos show a rounded, rough-surfaced bead in a warm tan colour, seen from above, from the side and at an angle, in front of a cream cloth.
The seller picks the bead sent from its stock.
How it is used
A loose bead is usually threaded on a cord for the neck or wrist, or kept on an altar. The seller gives a short bija mantra on its page. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 66) calls the two-faced bead Isha, the lord of the devas; the Devi Bhagavata names Ardhanarishvara. Astrologers today pair this bead with the Moon (Chandra); the pairing is a later convention, not a statement of the Purana, and it is the one this site uses in its rudraksha guide and free kundali.
