About this piece
A Gauri-Shankar rudraksha is two beads that have grown joined together. The seller sells this one as "energized", fitted with a copper coloured wire loop so it can be hung on a cord, and boxed with a small cloth pouch.
The seller describes it through the story of Gauri merging with Shankar to become Ardhanareshwar, and says anyone over 21 can wear it at all times, with no strict rules. The page we read gives no bead size, so check the seller's page.
How it is used
Rudraksha is traditionally worn on a cord or kept on an altar. The seller says this bead needs no strict rules and can be worn by anyone over 21. The loop in the photos is made for a cord or chain. It is a natural pair of joined beads, worshipped as Shiva and Parvati together, and it is not in the Shiva Purana's list of faced beads. It has no planet in our rudraksha guide.
Looking after it
- Keep it dry and wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Store it in the pouch away from perfume and strong chemicals.
