The Venus-Ketu antardasha is the ninth and final sub-period of the Venus Mahadasha. It lasts about 1 year and 2 months and sits at the very end of a 20-year chapter, immediately before the Sun Mahadasha begins. That position gives it a particular flavour: a closing, sorting and handing-over period.

People look it up because the contrast is noticeable. After years of Venus’s attention to pleasure and connection, Ketu asks what is truly needed. They often want to know whether this means loss, and whether it is a hard way to end a long period.

Parashara does not assign the nodes natural friends or enemies. Many astrologers read Ketu like Mars, which would make it neutral to Venus, and Rahu like Saturn. This is a convention rather than a rule in the source text, and schools differ.
