About this piece
A small pendant in sterling silver showing a seated figure in a pointed arch, with a loop at the top for a chain. The seller names it as Mahavira, the twenty fourth Tirthankara.
The pendant is 4.5 cm tall and 2.5 cm wide and weighs 10 g. It is. The page does not mention a chain, so the pendant appears to be sold on its own. The photo is small, so details of the carving are hard to see.
How it is used
A Tirthankara pendant is worn on a chain by some Jain devotees as a reminder of their faith. It can also be kept on a small shrine. Many wear it plain, on a simple chain.
