Saturn spends two and a half years in a sign, so most years have no ingress at all. 2027 has two. Saturn starts the year in Meena (Pisces), enters Mesha (Aries) on 3 June 2027, turns retrograde on 9 August 2027, and slides back into Meena on 20 October 2027. It turns direct on 24 December 2027 and makes its final crossing into Mesha on 23 February 2028. Why Saturn comes back to Pisces
Saturn takes about twenty-nine and a half years to circle the zodiac. Once a year Earth overtakes it, and for about four and a half months it appears to move backwards. Saturn does not reverse. When that apparent retreat begins soon after a sign change, the planet can be carried back over the border.
That is the sequence now. Saturn crosses into Mesha on 3 June 2027, only about three and a half degrees into the sign, and turns retrograde on 9 August 2027 at 3 degrees 38 minutes. The backward drift takes it out of Mesha on 20 October 2027. It turns direct on 24 December 2027 at 26 degrees 46 minutes of Meena and needs until 23 February 2028 to climb back across. So 2027 is the first taste of Saturn in Aries, and the settled arrival is early 2028.
The ingress times printed on other panchang sites may differ from ours by an hour or more. Saturn crosses a sign boundary very slowly, so the date is the reliable part and the clock time is approximate.
Aries is the sign where Saturn is traditionally counted as debilitated, its weakest classical dignity. Pisces, ruled by Jupiter, is a neutral sign for Saturn. The tradition is divided on how much transit dignity matters, and we do not choose between the views here.
